The first of Doha’s Education City trams is set to be shipped from Bremerhaven to Qatar.
Siemens is supplying Doha with 19 Avenio trams for the city’s Education City People Mover, which is due to go into service in 2016.
The first tram has completed several weeks of testing at the Wegberg-Wildenrath circuit. Prior to that, the catenary-less trams were tested at temperatures in excess of 40 degrees Celsius at the Rail Tec Arsenal (RTA) in Vienna.
