The Zweckverband Nahverkehr Westfalen-Lippe (NWL) and Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) transport authorities have chosen to extend a contract with Keolis to operate rail services on Germany’s Hellweg network.

Keolis subsidiary Eurobahn was first awarded the operating contract for the network, which is made up of four Regionalbahn lines, in 2008.

The current agreement will run from December 2018 to the end of 2030.

The Hellweg network includes four lines:

  • RB 50: Dortmund – Münster (The Lüner)
  • RB 59: Dortmund – Soest (Hellweg-Bahn)
  • RB 69: Munster – Hamm – Bielefeld (Ems-Börde-Bahn)
  • RB 89: Munster – Hamm – Paderborn – Warburg (Ems-Börde-Bahn)
