BKK has received approval to operate the first of its new 56-metre Urbos 3 trams in Budapest – thought to be the longest trams in the world.
In September, BKK began operating the smaller 34-metre variant and has now been issued with a license to begin running the longer vehicles.
In total, BKK has ordered 12 of the 56-metre units – the first of which could go into service by the end of this month, BKK has said.
Of the 12, nine have been delivered by CAF. The final three trams will arrive in Budapest in the next few months.
