Ansaldo STS has won a AUD $44 million contract to supply the signalling and telecomms equipment for Perth’s Forrestfield Airport Link.

The 8.5-kilometre Forrestfield Airport Link will connect the airport with Perth’s commuter rail network from a spur off the Midland Line at Bayswater Junction.

The project includes 8km of twin-bore rail tunnels and three new stations.

Awarded by the Salini Impregilo – NRW Joint Venture (SINRW), the contract includes the design, supply and testing of the systems for the extension.

Ansaldo STS will start work straight away and is due to commission the system in September 2020.
