East European train manufacturer Tatra-Yug has unveiled the K1M6, its latest model of tram.

The three-segment tram has been designed and made in the Ukraine and is described as energy efficient and comfortable yet simple by the train builder.

Around 250 firms from the Ukraine have supplied components for the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Tatra-Yug said: “This model is adapted to operation in cities with different state of the contact network and railways.

“Wide double doors through the address management enable fast embarkation and disembarkation of passengers.

“Large windows provide good illumination and panoramic views.

“Bogies of new construction are equipped with two-stage suspension, which provides smooth running and low noise level.”

The tram has been designed to provide easy access for people with limited mobility and features air conditioning, Wi-Fi, a ‘modern’ passenger information system and an LED lighting system.
