Bombardier will supply another 83 Regio 2N train sets for the Île-de-France region following the signing of a new deal with SNCF and STIF.

The new double-deck trains, which will be financed by Syndicat des Transports d’Ile-de-France (STIF), are a call-off on a framework order placed in 2010 for up to 860 trains.

Worth around €867 million, the trains will enter service on Line N, which operates out of Paris Montparnasse station, on the Transilien network and RER D.

The announcement today (June 23) takes the total number of Regio 2N trains ordered by the region to 125. Ten French regions have ordered 341 Region 2N trains so far.
