United Wagon Company’s tank container division, Unicon 1520, has signed a contract with Uralchem-Trans to transport chemicals in Russia and Eastern Europe – the company’s first deal since its inception in April.

United Wagon Company said that Unicon’s container fleet is highly adaptable and is suited to transport a wide range of chemicals, food products and liquefied petroleum gas.

Unicon 1520 executive director Victor Ivanov said: “We are proud to have Uralchem-Trans as our first customer. I am confident that we will be able to meet the exacting requirements, which are in place for the transportation of hazardous freights in tank containers.”

Uralchem-Trans deputy director of transport Alexey Koloshyan added: “United Wagon Company sets standards on the rail transport market and we expect that cooperation with its transportation subsidiary will improve the quality of our carrying operations, optimising cost and delivery times for our goods.”
