Anglo-Scottish travellers considering their travel options in the event of potential air travel problems will benefit from the operation of through trains between London Euston and Scotland this weekend.
Virgin Trains aims to run a basic hourly service this weekend (Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 May) following the lifting of route improvement restrictions on Anglo-Scottish routes by Network Rail.
This announcement follows additional seats being provided on London/Birmingham to Scotland routes this week following airport closures as a result of the ash cloud.
Details of the exact timetable will be available in online timetable planning systems and also on the Virgin Trains website.
Route improvement work will still take place as planned in the Liverpool and West Midlands areas.
