Men perform dangerous stunt on Indian railway

A video is spreading through YouTube showing two young men on the Central Railway line in Mumbai ‘train surfing’.

The men slide along a station platform whilst holding onto a moving train before it leaves the station.

As the train begins its journey, the men balance onto a ledge whilst holding onto a handrail and leap out of the train to hit passing pylons.

The video also shows the ‘train surfers’ jumping out onto a steel viaduct before running along it and jumping back on the train.

Indian Railways’ officials have urged the men to stop before someone is seriously hurt.

The Central Railway has said there have been 241 accident cases reported this year alone, including people who fell off the train whilst ‘surfing’ and people who were run over whilst crossing the tracks.
