Indian rail component company signs agreement with Ingeteam Traction

One of India’s leading manufacturers of critical railway and tractor components, Escorts Limited, has signed an exclusive agreement with Spanish-based company Ingeteam Traction.

The deal will help Escorts Ltd mark its entry in the ‘niche market of rail traction system’ and aims to provide world class traction systems to Indian Railways.

Escorts Ltd aims to start production with Traction Control Converters (TCC) and Locomotive Control Converters (LCC) with accessories for DEMU application on Indian Railways.

Ingeteam has wide range of products for electric locomotives, diesel-electric locomotives, diesel electrical multiple units (DEMU) and electric multiple units (EMU) operated by Indian Railways.

These products can also be used on metro rail coaches.

Speaking on the deal, Vikram Singhal, executive director & business head for Escorts Engineering Division said:

“This partnership strengthens Escorts commitment to bring in world class technology to Indian Railways and help realise its 2020 vision in upgrading the rolling stock in terms of technology, comfort and safety standards.

“We are constantly involved in providing state-of-the-art expertise which will ensure the growth and modernisation of Indian Railways.

“This agreement aims to establish a solid offer of traction systems for rolling stocks located in India.”

The partnership will help Escorts Ltd offer solutions to Indian Railways for its requirement of IGBT based traction system with open protocol.
