INA Metro station will become a new interchange hub for Delhi Metro’s Phase III.

The station will be providing connectivity between the Jahangirpui HUDA City Centre (Phase II) and the Mukundpur – Yamuna Vihar Metro corridors (Phase III).

Currently, the operational INA station provides Metro connectivity to three major shopping attractions of the capital, namely Sarojini Nagar, INA Market and Delhi Haat.

With the opening of new station, connectivity of the residents from North, West and East Delhi localities such as Mukundpur, Rajouri Garden and Mayur Vihar will be eased as people from these areas will be able to come to these shopping centres directly.

Students travelling between the North and South campuses of the University of Delhi will also be able to commute by the Metro by using INA as an interchange station.

The residential areas of Sarojini Nagar and Laxmi Bai Nagar will also be benefitted from the new station as it will provide connectivity to Vishwavidyalaya – Jahangirpuri in North; Hauz Khas – Qutab Minar – Gurgaon in South; Rajouri Garden – Mayapuri in West; and Mayur Vihar – Anand Vihar in East.

The new Metro station will be unique as the platform will be constructed above the concourse for the first time in Delhi Metro; because of the height variation between the existing INA station and the upcoming new INA station owing to the already existing Metro tunnel at the location.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has modified the station design to adjust to the new circumstances. The Station will have five entry/exit points for the convenience of the passengers with three of them being planned for the new INA Phase III Metro station.

As per the Detailed Project Report, the interchange load will be 129,881 in 2016 on a daily basis on the new stations. Presently, the daily footfall of the operational INA Metro Station is around 37, 000.
