Agreement signed for Turkey’s seagull transport hub

Dutch engineering consultants Royal HaskoningDHV and Hakan Kiran Architecture have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the design of the new Kabatas Seagull Transportation Hub in Istanbul.

The new hub, which is designed to look like a seagull in flight, will be located on the western shore of the Bosporus in Istanbul.

Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister for Foreign Trade Lilianne Ploumen signed the agreement during the Netherlands Economic Mission to Turkey.

Royal HaskoningDHV will deliver geotechnical, environmental and maritime consultancy and engineering services to the architect’s project team.

The architect was assigned by the Municipality of Istanbul to design a new landmark.

The project will include an underpass for vehicles, a metro station, a tram station as well as ferry docks.
