Alstom has won a 20 million euro contract to install auxiliary systems on São Paulo’s Line 5 extension.

Line 5, which has been in service since 2002, has six stations linking Capao Redondo to Largo Treze and serves more than 22 thousand passengers per hour.

The extension will allow passengers to connect to Line 1 (Blue) between Jabaquara – Tucuruvi at Santa Cruz station, and Line 2 (Green) between Vila Prudente – Vila Madalena at Chácara Klabin station.

The first of 11 new stations, Adolfo Pinheiro, will open by the end of the year, with the extension due to be completed in 2015.

Alstom will be responsible for supplying the main ventilation system for the stations and tunnels of the new line passage.
