Passenger numbers rise on Dubai Metro

Listen to this article

Passenger numbers have continued to rise on the Dubai Metro in 2013, with more than 33 million trips recorded in the first quarter of this year.

The operator has seen even more passengers use the system’s Red and Green lines after posting a figure of almost 27 million this time last year.

The Government of Dubai identified the most popular stations as Deira City Centre, Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall and the Mall of the Emirates station.

Passenger numbers have risen on the network since the first line opened in 2009.
