Work is well underway on two new viaducts as part of the proposed high-speed line connecting Madrid, Extremadura and the Portuguese border.
The 1,488 metre-long Tajo viaduct will sit 90 metres above the Tagus River.
With a main span measuring 324 metres, Tajo will become one of Spain’s largest river crossings alongside the 384 metre Almonte viaduct, which will also make up part of the Talayuela-Cáceres section of the line.
