Transport for London (TfL) has drawn up a shortlist of bidders for the Electra contract to decide who will manage ticketing on the Tube.

Cubic Transportation Systems, LG CNS Co CNF and Scheidt & Bachmann GmbH have all been named.

The winning company will be responsible for providing revenue collection systems for 400 stations around the capital.

The seven-year contract, which will be awarded by the end of 2014, will look specifically at integrating the current system to support TfL’s ambitions for contactless payment across the whole network.

Matthew Hudson, TfL’s customer experience head of business development, said: “We now have a shortlist of bidders for the Electra contract and we will be providing further information to them about our detailed requirements over the coming months.

“One of the key things we will be looking for from the successful bidder is a contract that delivers the high quality of service and value for money that our customers demand.”
