An Alstom-led consortium has been awarded a €120 million contract to upgrade the signalling system on ‘one of Italy’s busiest rail points’ in Rome.

The project includes the installation of a modern signalling system, SCMT in-cab signalling technology and other telecommunications and civil works.

Once complete in 2017, the upgraded system will significantly boost the capacity of the intersection.
