RTD board authorises Southeast light rail extension

RTD’s board has approved a $207 million southern extension of Denver’s Southeast Light Rail Line.

The 3.7-kilometre extension, which would take the line south into Lone Tree, will now go ahead if the project is granted funding by the Federal Transit Administration.

RTD has committed $66 million – around 32 per cent of the project’s total cost – to the Southeast line extension. Additional funding is being provided by local stakeholders, however, the project hinges on receiving $92 million in the form of a federal grant.

  1. Look at how barren the background is there. Suburban US sprawl at it’s finest. Hopefully they won’t expand the freeway lanes and rely on the LRT instead.
