Moscow has approved a 3.6-kilometre extension of the city’s tram network from Shosse Entuziastov metro station to the Ivanovskoye District.

The line, which will have a length of around six-and-a-half kilometres, will have six stops and around 3.6 kilometres of new track.

More than 100,000 people are predicted to use the line every day.

In an announcement, the Moscow City Government said that maintenance and repair of rolling stock for the line will be carried out at the Oktyabrsky tram facility, which has been adapted to accommodate low-floor vehicles.
