Vossloh has announced plans to sell its rail vehicle division and focus on its growing infrastructure business.

Selling the Transportation division, which is expected to generate revenues of around €500 million in 2014, is part of a wider reorganisation of the company.

Vossloh’s supervisory board said that the Transportation group was no longer defined as a core business and that it hoped to sell the division in whole or in part by 2017.

From 2015, the infrastructure business, which supplies track components and services, will be divided into three areas; core components, customised modules and lifecycle solutions.

In a statement setting out its plans, Vossloh confirmed that it expects to achieve sales revenues of €1.34 billion this year, with a forecast EBIT of between €-150 million and €-180 million.
