Rio de Janeiro’s commuter rail operator SuperVia has commissioned its 50th new Chinese-built train.

Two more CNR 3000 Series trains entered passenger service on December 4.

Twenty new four-car units have entered service this year. Half of the 100 trains being built by the Chinese manufacturer are now in operation.

The final new 3000 Series train is expected to be commissioned in 2016.
