One of the UK’s leading rolling stock leasing companies is to be sold to Hong Kong-based group CK Investments S.A R.L.

Subject to approval by the European Commission, 100 per cent of Eversholt Investment Group, which owns around 28 per cent of Britain’s passenger rolling stock, is to be sold.

The group is currently owned by a consortium comprising 3i Infrastructure plc, Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners and STAR Capital Partners.

The sale is expected to be completed in March, 2015.

Mary Kenny, chief executive officer of Eversholt Rail, said: “Eversholt Rail has performed strongly, both operationally and financially, under its current ownership providing, managing and maintaining key UK rail assets.

“We look forward to continuing our success with CKI, who have extensive experience in managing infrastructure assets and are highly supportive of our strategy and approach.”
