Leipzig places framework order for Solaris trams

Leipzig City Transport (LVB) has placed a framework order with Solaris for up to 41 Tramino light rail vehicles.

The agreement includes a firm order for five units, with the option to purchase a further 36 vehicles in up to four separate tranches.

Deliveries of the trams, which will be specially designed to fit Leipzig’s broad-gauge network, will start from 2016 and could continue until 2020.
