Additional Welsh Express to link north and south Wales

Listen to this article

The Welsh Assembly Government has announced that the express rail link between north and south Wales is to increase to two return services a day.

Train operator Arriva Trains Wales is in negotiations to lease the additional rolling stock, a move made possible by financial support from WAG of £3.5 million. It has been decided to lease the trains for up to seven years, as opposed to paying an annual leasing charge, as this will save approximately £350,000.
