DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd is Britain’s best performing rail freight operator, having won one Golden and two Silver industry ‘Whistles’ awards for exceptional operational performance. The awards name DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd’s position as the most punctual and reliable rail freight operator in the UK.
The ‘Golden Whistles’ awards, which are organised by the Institute of Railway Operators in conjunction with Modern Railways magazine, celebrate railway passenger and freight operators who have led their industry in improving their operational position during the last year.
DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd received three awards at the ceremony, held in London on Friday 28 January. The company was the only rail freight operator to receive any awards.
- Gold Award for best freight operational performance
- Silver Award for most improved freight operational performance
- Silver Award for most improved operational performance for delay minutes (passenger or freight services)
Alain Thauvette, Chief Executive of DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd accepted the awards on behalf of the company and said: “Rail freight customers need reliable and punctual services.
