Surprise namings for Neville Hill depot staff

Staff at Neville Hill depot surprised relatives of late and retired staff members with the namings of 4 recently repainted shunters.

Two of the gleaming shunters were named Duncan Bedford and David Lightfoot by their respective widows and daughters with the remaining 2 being named David Thirkill and Ivan Stephenson, both retired after serving the railway for 40 years.

The 4 shunters have all been repainted in East Midlands Trains livery as part of a depot competition between staff and managers to see who could produce the best finished locomotive.

After much consideration Tim Shoveller, MD of EMT, declared 08950 David Lightfoot, which had been painted by depot staff, the winner.
