Sheila Breeze is the new Virgin Trains’ Station Manager for Crewe and North Wales, taking over from Sam Dixon, who has been appointed Group Station Manager overseeing all Virgin Trains’ station activity in the North West and North Wales.

A former librarian, who lives in Nantwich, Sheila started her railway career at Crewe station as a Customer Service Assistant with Virgin Trains in 1998. She has subsequently held the position of Team Leader at Stafford and Station Manager at Wolverhampton, Warrington Bank Quay and Wigan North Western. Before moving to Crewe, Sheila was Station Manager for Stafford and Stoke-on-Trent stations.

Speaking about her new role, Sheila said: “I am so pleased and excited to be appointed Station Manager Crewe. It’s like coming home! I would never have dreamed 13 years ago when I started as a very nervous platform assistant that one day I would be back at Crewe as Station Manager with an award winning station team to support me.”

Sam Dixon joined Virgin Trains as Station Manager Crewe in 2002, moving north from Brighton where he held a similar post. In 2004 he also assumed responsibility for Virgin Trains’ stations interests in North Wales.

Sam Dixon said: “I am delighted to be appointed at the Group Station Manager for the North West. I look forward to leading the station teams within the region to continue to deliver high standards of customer care and service through innovation and passion as Virgin Trains prepares for the new franchise on 2012. I am delighted that Sheila will be succeeding me at Crewe; she will do a great job for our customers and staff alike.”
