Chiltern have released video footage of a bridge replacement they undertook as part of the £250 million investment to reduce journey times on the Chiltern Mainline. They aim to reduce journey time by 20% in September this year, with the fastest train between Birmingham and London taking 100 minutes.

The Upper Icknield Way bridge near Princes Risborough, Buckinghamshire was replaced over one weekend and opened in time for services on the Monday morning. The new structure and track will allow trains to travel at a higher speed than on the previous bridge.

The Chiltern Mainline links London and Birmingham on a 112-mile route through Ruislip and parts of Northamptonshire,  Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The video can be seen here.
