ScotRail launches new website to help Kids Go Free

ScotRail has launched an incentive for parents to help keep their children occupied this Easter without breaking the bank.

Children can get out and about by train with their parents and grandparents with ScotRail’s Kids Go Free ticket.

Kids Go Free tickets allow up to two children to travel off-peak with each adult – free of charge – when purchasing a Kids Go Free ticket.

And this week ScotRail launched a new website which will keep children entertained on the train. The contents, which can be printed out for journeys, include word searches, puzzles and colouring in pages, so there should be no more cries of: “Are we there yet?”

Adults can also show their Kids Go Free ticket at a host of attractions across Scotland to get free child entry with each paying adult, and the new website also provides fare information as well as places well worth a visit under the scheme. They range from Deep Sea World in North Queensferry to the Glasgow Science Centre.

Graeme Macfarlan, ScotRail’s marketing manager, said: “It’s tough keeping children entertained during the holidays so hopefully our Kids Go Free ticket – and our new website -will encourage people to get out and do something different.”

He added: “Many households are feeling the pinch, so this is the ideal way to leave the car behind and enjoy some family time – that’s not going to blow the budget.”
