Integrated safety, control and automation systems specialist Hima-Sella has appointed a new Project Engineer, Richard Verity, to further strengthen its telecommunications expertise in the rail sector.

Richard, a Chartered Engineer and MIEE, joins Hima-Sella’s rail and automation team at its Midlands office in Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire, bringing substantial experience of mainline, urban and light rail projects to the Stockport-based company.

In a career spanning over 20 years to date, Richard has worked throughout the East Midlands, progressing from a junior engineer at GEC Alsthom in Leicester, Systems Engineer at Bombardier in Derby, to Principal Systems Engineer at KeTech Systems in Nottingham.

Previous projects he has worked on include the management of design updates for on-train passenger information systems on London Underground Northern and Piccadilly Lines and the design of replacement customer information systems for 27 stations on the Chiltern Railways network.

In his new role, Richard will join the project team responsible for delivering a recently awarded, high profile contract with London Underground which requires Hima-Sella’s in depth knowledge of rail telecommunications and expertise in systems integration.

Ian Wright, Hima-Sella’s Managing Director, commented:

“We are delighted to welcome Richard on board at Hima-Sella at such a crucial time. His extensive experience within the underground and rail sectors will be invaluable on rail projects that Hima-Sella is working on, as well as our future expansion within the rail sector as a whole.”
