It has been reported that four men arrested on the London Underground on Easter Monday were ‘urban explorers.’
The four were seen on CCTV near Russell Square station and ‘sparked a terror alert.’
The British Transport Police arrested the men in the early hours on suspicion of ‘railway trespass and burglary.’ They were then later all released on bail.
Urban explorers attempt to gain access to see the normally unseen or restricted areas of urban or industrial areas.
Due to the legal issues surrounding gaining access to unauthorised areas, enthusiasts are usually discreet to avoid being prosecuted.
