The results of this week’s poll are in: 65% of our readers do not think the Government has done enough to consult the public over the proposed High Speed 2 project.
When launching the Public Consultation, Philip Hammond said:
“Britain’s economic map would be redrawn, jobs created, prosperity spread and the way businesses work and compete transformed by a new high speed rail network.”
There are still 84 days left of the Consultation for you to have your say on the high speed network.
The project is facing tough opposition from campaigning groups and communities along the proposed route.
On 20 December 2010 the Government published a revised version of the route to be put out for Public Consultation, based on a Y-shaped route from London to Birmingham with branches to Leeds and Manchester.
