Atkins, the UK’s leading railway consultant, provides services covering virtually every discipline in the industry.

At Railtex, it will be showcasing its experience and service offering to the rail communications market.

With a growing reputation in this area, Atkins has won a number of significant contracts recently including the Birmingham New Street SISS (station information and security systems) project which comprises the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the CCTV, CIS, PA and other ancillary systems at the station.

The company’s specialist engineers have a wealth of experience in delivering complex turnkey communication projects for LUL and Network Rail.

Services are delivered through initial feasibility studies to design, procurement, installation and commissioning of communication systems including integration with third party and station management systems.

“Atkins’ experience in the comms sector over the last ten years encompasses large and small-scale projects,” says Operations Manager Matt Wickham.

“From complete SISS renewals on the Thameslink project to small design commissions on operational telecommunication systems.

“The breadth of capability within Atkins enables us to offer complete end-to-end solutions but with deep technical understanding of the needs of the comms market throughout the UK.”

Atkins are on stand G66 at Railtex this week.
