FP McCann Ltd is exhibiting for the first time at Railtex 2011, announcing its introduction into the precast concrete rail products market.

Following the acquisition of Ennstone Building Products and its ‘C’ cable trough business, McCann has recently expanded its product range to include surface and underground copings, offset tactile paving and oversail blocks.

Non-standard items are also a feature of the company’s rail arm, with a centralised manufacturing base in Warwickshire capable of supplying to customer’s bespoke designs.

FP McCann is one of the nominated Network Rail-approved suppliers of precast concrete cable protection troughs, stocking over 30 different types of ‘C’ troughs and lids.

As well as the standard straights and curves, McCann supplies specials such as transitions, ‘Tees’ and transformer location bases, all to Network Rail approval.

All troughs are manufactured to allow ease of access for maintenance teams whilst providing complete protection to cables and other services.

Platform safety and edge warning is covered by copings and tactile paving, both manufactured to Network Rail and London Underground (LU) specification.

Copings to BS EN 8110 conform to slip resistance requirements (Pendulum test BS 7976-2) and are available in two standard sizes – 930x760x100mm and 1219x914x100mm. LU nosing slabs are also supplied as standard.

Offset tactile edge warning paving and oversail blocks form the remaining products in McCann’s platform range. Available in charcoal grey, standard grey and buff, offset tactiles to BS EN 1339 are approved for use in both surface and underground platforms.

Oversail blocks in two standard sizes are formed to key in with the platform edge and supply a stable base for copings.

Other complementary products through the company’s fencing division include precast concrete security fencing, rail ballast boards and posts, bollards and screed rails.

FP McCann can be found on stand G98 at Railtex this week.
