York EMC Services (YES) will present its rail Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) capabilities at this year’s Railtex.

Often regarded as a black art, EMC is of huge importance as electrical interference in a signalling system, caused by a traction package, could have huge implications for safety.

As a leading provider of EMC assurance services to the industry, YES is continuing to provide principal contractors and subcontractors alike with cost effective solutions that allow them to meet both their legal and contractual requirements.

The company demystifies EMC through its consultancy and training services.

It helps to shoulder the burden by producing EMC management plans and associated documentation, performing EMC hazard identification and undertaking on-site site surveys both before and after installation of equipment.

YES carries out EM computational modelling and predictive calculations, as well as accredited EMC – EN50121-x:2006 and electrical safety testing of equipment at its state-of-the-art laboratories in Bristol, Castleford and Dalgety Bay, Fife.

Stray current and touch potential measurements are also performed.

YES is currently providing consultancy and on-site testing services for major projects in the UK, South Africa and Australia.
