South West Trains has awarded a contract to ‘R2P’ Rail & Road Protec to provide the ‘saloon and forward facing’ CCTV for their class 158 and 159 fleets.
South West Trains operates around 1,600 trains a day in the south and south west of England.
R2P has worked closely with South West Trains and the Porterbrook Leasing Company teams to advise the best CCTV solution for these trains.
Balvinder Chana, R2P Director UK Operations commented:
“We are pleased that after a successful trial South West Trains has decided to install R2P saloon and forward facing CCTV system on both class 158 and 159 fleets which is in total, 112 vehicles.
“Over a 3G real time connection, the South West Trains staff will be able to view the live and recorded footage remotely from the train.”
