Centro’s student tickets offer discount travel & treatments

Students in Wolverhampton have been handed a boost with the news they can get their travel tickets and make savings at a top city hair salon, as part of an offer from Centro.

The region’s transport authority is giving students the chance to get 20% off treatments at Francesco Group Hair Salon when they buy their student travel passes.

Students can also pick up travel information, apply for tickets and get their discount postcards at the Centro stand at this year’s University of Wolverhampton Freshers’ Fayre, today, on September 13.

An nNetwork student ticket costs £180 per term and is valid on most buses in the Network West Midlands area, as well as rail zones one and two. This gives a saving of over £900 compared to buying the same number of adult four-week passes needed to cover each term.

Those wishing to travel in all rail zones and on the Midland Metro can get a ticket for £223 per term.

A Centro spokesperson said: “Paying for travel can be expensive for students and it is also difficult for those new to the area to know the best travel options available to them.

“At the Freshers’ Fayre we will be on hand to give travel advice, details on how to apply for student passes and handing out a few additional extras.”

To claim the discount students should fill in a postcard available at the fayre or the nTravel information Centre at Wolverhampton Bus Station and show it at the salon.

Treatments can be claimed at the salon on Darlington Street, between September 13 and December 31 on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
