Which? research on train tickets is ‘dubious and misleading’ – ATOC

Listen to this article

In response to Which? research about train tickets, a spokesperson for the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC) said:

“This is a highly dubious and misleading piece of research. Which? has asked people to identify the detailed terms and conditions of tickets that they may never have bought.

“It’s like questioning someone on the plot of a film they haven’t seen or the rules of a sport they don’t follow.

“Operators get millions of people from A to B every day and the vast majority of them have no problem whatsoever buying the right ticket for their journey.

“But we know that there are always things that can be done better, which is why we work closely with the rest of the industry to make things as straightforward as possible, such as by removing jargon.”
