Freightliner PL has been given the prestigious Rynek Kolejowy (Railway Market) Loco of the Year Award.
Mr Rafał Milczarski, Managing Director of Freightliner PL, accepted the honour at a ceremony on October 13 during the TRAKO Rail Fair in Gdańsk.
The Loco of the Year Award is awarded to top small or medium sized company in the Polish rail freight industry.
The first two years the winner was decided by reader vote. However the format in 2011 changed and judging panel consisted of members of the Editorial office at Rynek Kolejowy.
The jury considers the activity of the companies nominated, their progress, general image and positive influence exerted on the Polish railway market.
The biennial Loco of the Year Award ceremony is usually held in mid-October, during the TRAKO Rail Trade in Gdańsk.
In previous years, the winners of Loco of the Year award were:
- 2007: Medcom Sp. z o.o., PESA S.A., Newag S.A., Axtone Sp. zo.o.
- 2009: EC Engineering, Elester PKP, KZA Kraków.
