National Express train operator c2c is launching a search amongst its thousands of customers in East London and Essex to identify the c2c commuter 2011 ‘Community Champion’.

The reward for the winning nominee is a complimentary annual season-ticket for 2012 with c2c, and the opportunity to work with the train operator in championing their particular community interest or local charity.

As the Metro & Suburban rail operator of 2011, c2c say they are ‘proud to serve East London and Essex with high quality train services and participates in the community in many ways; through staff who contribute to local charities, by working with local organisations in improving transport links and station facilities and in providing reliable, punctual and environmentally friendly train services’.

The train operator wants to hear from any commuter who carries-out good work in their community and would like to nominate themselves as c2c’s ‘Community Champion’, or from fellow passengers or family members of a regular commuter who would like to make a nomination on their behalf.

Whatever the good work is, perhaps someone is volunteering at a hospice, running a local football team or visiting elderly neighbours, c2c wants to hear from you.

Nominations can be made via this special email address [email protected] and must include details of the nominated person, where they travel from and to, and the community work they are participating in.

Closing date for nominations is Friday 25 November 2011 and full terms and conditions can be found at www.c2c-online.co.uk/community.

Julian Drury, Managing Director for c2c said:

“I am delighted that we’re launching our search for the c2c ‘Community Champion’ of 2011 amongst our regular and loyal customers.

“We’re proud to serve the people of Essex and East London and I am sure there will be many fantastic examples where our customers are contributing greatly to their local community.

“We want to hear from you and we’re looking forward to receiving your nominations.”
