Listen to this article

A team from Rail Media are on their way to Snowdon today to train for the Three Peaks by Rail challenge for Railway Children.

This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the challenge, which sees teams of four climbing the three highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales, with a special train taking them between the mountains.

The event is now one of Railway Children’s most important fundraisers and to date it has raised a magnificent total of £1,325,310.

The Ashby de la Zouch team made up of Asif Ahmed, Paul O’Connor, Craig Smith and Paul Curtis will be climbing the Pyg Trail of Mount Snowdon in their Hi-Viz PPE sponsored by Gore Workwear.

The team will also be supported by Adam O’Connor and MD of Rail Media, Tom O’Connor.

The Three Peaks by Rail challenge takes place on the 21-23 June and we’ll be following the boys as they head up the mountains for charity.

If you would like to sponsor the boys in team Rail Media, please visit their Virgin Money Giving page and donate online.

We’ll be posting lots of pictures of the glowing mountaineers next week after their weekend climb, wish them luck!
