A joint venture agreement has been signed between Hyder and WSP to carry out design work for the redevelopment of London Bridge station.

HyderWSP will work alongside main contractor Costain on the project, which will see the complete phased demolition and reconstruction of London’s oldest station.

The improvements are being funded by the £6 billion Thameslink programme to allow the station to accommodate new 12-car trains.

Simon Regan, HyderWSP’s senior project manager, said: “The London Bridge Station Redevelopment project is unique in how it is set up to get the best from all of the organisations involved.

“Collaboration and collocation with client, contractor and designer means no man-marking and is resulting in better and quicker decisions.”
