Italy’s state-owned engineering consultancy Italferr has been appointed by Turkey’s Ministry of Transport to design a new rail link between Ankara and Esenboğa airport.

The 1.5 million euro contract will include the completion of a feasibility study, as well as preliminary and final design of the 27 km line.

Design work will include the construction of eight new stations.

The Italian consultancy has already carried out work on two high-speed train maintenance depots in Turkey.
