Ferguson and Manchester United lend support to Railway Children

Sir Alex Ferguson and the Manchester United first team squad have shown their support by donating a signed shirt to this year’s Railway Children Three Peaks Challenge fundraising effort.

The shirt, which comes with a certificate of authentication, has been signed by 20 of the first team squad, including Rooney, Giggs, Van Persie, Nani, Evra, Ferdinand, and Sir Alex Ferguson, who announced that he is to step down as the club’s manager at the end of the season after 27 years.

Transport for London’s Jon Jarrett, Patricia Holgate, Penny St Martin and Jon Jarrett, dubbed the TfL Trekkers, are part of a four-person team who will be attempting to climb Mt Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis between June 20 and 22.

The team have set themselves a target or raising a total of £5,500 for the Railway Children charity.
