A joint venture of Alstom and Transmashholding, TramRus, has agreed a deal with Ukrainian bus manufacturer City Transport Group that will enable the introduction of modern trams onto the network.

The agreement grants City Transport Group the license to build vehicles based on Alstom’s Citadis light rail design in Ukraine.

The new trams will be able to withstand temperatures as low as -40 degrees celsius and will be adapted to run on the country’s Russian gauge track.
