Balfour Beatty, Laing O’Rourke Construction Limited, Morgan Sindall and VINCI Construction UK have been shortlisted for a £75 million contract to fit-out Woolwich station.

As well as the station, the contract covers the fit-out of both portals at North Woolwich and Plumstead.

The contractors will now be invited to submit a bid, with the winner set to be announced in autumn 2014. Work will then begin in spring 2015 ahead of Crossrail’s grand opening in 2018.

Berkley Homes – the developer building the over-site development at Woolwich – completed work on the station box in March and in the summer, funding was confirmed, allowing the competition for the fit-out works to begin.
