The Hague orders extra Avenio trams

The Hague’s public transport operator, HTM, has placed an order for 20 additional Avenio trams from Siemens.

HTM’s latest €55 million order builds on an earlier agreement with Siemens for 40 low-floor vehicles, which included an option for an additional 40 trams.

The first of the four-car units, which are being built in Vienna, were due to arrive in The Hague by February 2014.

  1. Siemens are building their new trams for The Hague. Nice. But what about Siemens to build the Avenio for some of the UK’s cities including Norwich, Brighton, York & Exeter.

  2. Terrific news that Line 1 will get the 20 additional trams…my home will be serviced by all three routes (11/17/1) and that has to be great for locals as well as visitors.
