Arriva UK Trains COO steps down

DB Arriva has announced that its UK rail chief operating officer, Steve Murphy, is to leave the company.

In a statement, Steve said: “I have had a fantastic six years working for DB Arriva, first in my role as managing director of LOROL and more recently as chief operating officer of UK Trains.

“I have had the privilege of working with many very talented colleagues during this time and I’m immensely proud of the fact that DB Arriva TOCs are delivering industry leading results in operational performance and customer satisfaction while also bringing significant innovation to the industry.

“I am planning to have a few months off before deciding what I’ll do next, but I remain hugely enthusiastic about the rail industry and its future and I’m also keen to continue to play my part in the industry’s development through my roles with RSSB and RDG.”

Bob Holland, managing director of Arriva UK Trains, said: “I would like to thank Steve for all he has done with DB Arriva and we wish Steve all the very best for his future.”
