Dutch rail operator drops ‘Hispeed’ brand

Listen to this article

Holland’s main passenger rail operator has launched a new ‘international’ brand as it looks to restructure the business.

From 2015, NS is hoping to have its high-speed and conventional network operations managed by the same body. To enable this separation, the operator has created NS International which will oversee Thalys, ICE International, Eurostar and TGV services in and out of Holland.

NS International will replace NS Hispeed, which was established in 2007, on June 15.

NS Hispeed is a founding member of Railteam – an organisation which has brought together some of Europe’s biggest operators with the central aim of improving international passenger services across the continent.
