Bombardier and CSR Nanjing Puzhen have signed an agreement to jointly develop and manufacture the Innovia monorail system for China.

In a statement, Bombardier said the partnership would help manage the country’s “rapid urbanisation and an increase in air travel”.

Pierre Attendu, president of the systems division at Bombardier Transportation, said: “This agreement demonstrates the firm commitment of both parties to develop a long-term industrial partnership that addresses China’s urgent need for urban and airport transportation.”

The new generation Innovia Monorail 300 system is currently being delivered in Sao Paulo, Brazil and for the new King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
